Access via Carrier Connection

LANDesk^® Handheld and Embedded Device Manager lets you easily secure moving resources and the information on them. If a wireless device is lost, a simple right-click from your management console lets you access the device via carrier connection to clear its memory card; delete contacts, address book data and email; perform a reset and more.

Asset Management

Automate asset discovery and inventory management plus asset monitoring and change control alerting. The solution's lightweight inventory scanner catalogs detailed hardware and software attributes and stores them in a central inventory database for license tracking, reporting and change control as well as easy targeting for handheld software deployments for increased efficiency.

Efficient Software Distribution

LANDesk^® Handheld and Embedded Device Manager makes it easy to distribute software packages and updates to both your wired and wireless devices using LANDesk^® Management Suite’s familiar task scheduler. You can use a zero-touch process to update client-side agents. Plus with LANDesk^® Handheld File Exchange™ technology you can push out key documents or price lists to selected handhelds and pull critical data files up to the core server for automated data collection.

Bandwidth Optimization

LANDesk^® Handheld and Embedded Device Manager is optimized for the low-speed, intermittent connections typical of handheld devices. Dynamic bandwidth throttling adjusts automatically for slower wireless connections, so software distribution tasks don’t monopolize bandwidth. In addition, data compression reduces total traffic sent over wireless links, while checkpoint restart helps ensure that should a task be interrupted, it is completed at the next available opportunity.
