We use KoldLok products to guard against bypass airflow, a condition which negatively impacts cooling efficiency in three distinct ways:

• Hot Spots - Hot spots happen when cooled air is not delivered to where it is most needed, due to airflow escape through unsealed cable cutouts and perimeter penetration.
• Cooling Unit Incapacity - sensible cooling units (CU) capacity is reduced when bypass airflow cools the computer-heated exhaust air returning to the CU.
• Latent Cooling Penalty - extra energy is wasted to replace the moisture lost from airflow escape to maintain a reliable computing environment.

Inadequate supply air volume creates an environment where equipment at the top of cabinets is significantly hotter.
